Welcome to Sports2Debate.com's MLB Mock Draft. In June, the 30 baseball teams will gather for one of the most tedious and longest processes in all of the sports. Does anybody even know how many rounds are in the Major League Baseball draft? It could last up to 50 Rounds! In this year's draft, we have a can't miss prospect in Stephen Strasburg and after him, we have Grant Green, Kyle Gibson, Aaron Crow, Alex White and Dustin Ackley as some of the top players in this year's draft. Do not forget to look at the draft notes to determine the compensation picks during the first round. In the MLB Draft, a team forfeits it's first round draft pick if the team signs a 'Type A' free agent, but only if that team's pick is after Pick 15. Any pick after 15 is considered unprotected and if the team signs a 'Type A' free agent, their pick is sent to the free agent's previous team. Personally, I am all for having extra picks, but teams like the Yankees and Phillies continually get rid of their picks. Draft order has been determined so enjoy our Mock Draft!!!
Draft Notes: Washington Nationals get Pick #10 by failing to sign 2008 first round pick, Aaron Crow. Arizona Diamondbacks receive the 17th pick as compensation for Type A free agent, Orlando Hudson, from the Dodgers. Los Angeles gets pick #24 and #25 compensation from Francisco Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira respectively. 24th pick was the Mets and 25th pick was the Yankees. Seattle Mariners get pick #27 for the Phillies signing Raul Ibanez and Yankees get #28 for failing to sign Gerritt Cole.
