Jerry Rice, Greatest Wide Receiver Of All Time

Top 10 Wide Receivers of All Time

(Both statistically and as team-players)

10. Michael Irvin – When you are a big part of three Super Bowl wins, you automatically get put on this list.

9. Don Hutson – This former Alabama University grad set the tone for receivers with his 99 career TD’s.

8. Paul Warfield – Won the last championship in Cleveland history, then won two Super Bowls with the Dolphins.

7. Steve Largent – Traded for an 8th round pick in 1977, Largent had the best hands since Dante “Glue Fingers” Lavelli.

6. Cris Carter – Only 5 players have more touchdowns than Carter, only two are receivers.

5. Randy Moss – Holds the record for touchdown passes in a season and is third all-time in reception TD’s.

4. Lance Alworth – His 10,000+ yards and 7 times All Pro gets his name high on this list.

3. Marvin Harrison – His 128 TD’s are above Jim Browns 126.  He is known as one of the best route runners to ever play the game.

2. Lynn Swann – His 4 Super Bowl Rings and a Super Bowl MVP land him here.  His career numbers are nothing compared to some of the other names on this list, but his career Super Bowl stats shatter everyone else's.

Poll: In Your Opinion, Who is the #1 Wide Receiver of All-Time?

1. Jerry Rice – #1 in Touchdowns, 13 times All – Pro, 3 Time Super Bowl Champ and the greatest player without argument to ever play the receiver position.

* Before you question why Terrell Owens is not on this list, read the following:

While Terrell Owens' regular season stats and his ability would place him high on a 'top receivers' list, we took his personality and that he's not much of a team player (see what he did to the Cowboys) into consideration.  He would rank #3 based on ability alone.  If Owens ever wins a Super Bowl, he would need to be taken into consideration.

The receivers today are much greater than they ever were in the past. Statistics will show this.

I guess you don't understand the history of the NFL. Throwing the ball is a part of the sport that was added later. Also the rules help the receivers then they did in the past.
